eu4.exe stays untouched

Anvil is a small version.dll next to the game. Steam updates and "Verify integrity of game files" keep working.

Safe by default

Every plugin lists the game builds it supports. Unknown builds, broken plugins or an empty folder: the game simply starts as usual.

Each start writes anvil/anvil.log: which plugins loaded, which were skipped, and why.

1. Download

   Get the latest anvil-windows-x64.zip.

2. Extract

   Unpack it into the game folder, the one that contains eu4.exe.

3. Add plugins and play

   Put plugins into anvil/plugins/ and start EU4 as usual.

To uninstall, delete version.dll and the anvil folder. Nothing else was changed.
